Brighton Marathon 2025

Following on from a great day last year we were back in force to run the last water stop on route. This year we were at mile 24, just after runners turned back onto the lagoon for the final stretch.

We ended up with 25 volunteers in our lovely new minty jackets to keep us nice and warm. It turned out to be a super sunny but slightly windy day, perfect to put the new jackets to the test.

This provided a great location for the club to support many BHFRs and other FRs who were running the marathon! After last years mishap with the cup liquid levels and concentrations we were relived to be responsible for the Buxton water bottle station instead. After a 9:30am briefing we were put to work preparing for the thousands of runners who would be coming past relying on us in the last few miles.

Tables were set up, water stacked, coffees consumed and we were ready to go! Arms were stretched out over the barriers with water ready for the taking. The first few moments were exciting, who is going to be the chosen first person to have their water taken!

After the leaders came past there were a steady stream of runners all day keeping us busy all the way through until 5pm!
